What has your mom done for you?

Matthew 20, 20-23Then came to him the mother of Zebedees children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him. 21 And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. 22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able. 23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

Moms teach us about foresight: "Make sure you wear clean underwear in case you’re in an accident."

Moms teach us about logic: "If you fall out of that tree and break your neck, don’t come crying to me."

Moms teach us about maturity: "Eat your vegetables or you’ll never grow up."

Moms teach us about religion: "You better pray that comes out of the carpet."

Moms teach us about time travel: "If you don’t straighten up, I’m going to knock you into the middle of next week!"

Moms teach us about contradictions: "Shut your mouth and eat your dinner!"

Moms teach us about contortionism: "Will you look at the dirt on the back of your neck?"

Moms teach us about perseverance: "You are going to sit here until you eat every last piece of that broccoli."

Moms teach us about genetics: "You’re just like your father."

Moms teach us about the weather: "It looks like a tornado swept through your room."

Moms teach us about the circle of life: "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out.

“Moms teach us all kinds of lessons but one of the greatest is to “bring all your cares to Jesus.”

Would your mom stand before God on your behalf? Maybe, she has already on many occasions. I know my mom has, see a love a mom has for a child is so different from anyone else. She loves you unconditionally, very close to the way the Lord loves you. She hides things for you from your dad, so you want get a good old fashion woo pen. She hides your report cards. Let us just say mom takes up for you, in most cases anyway. All the above was said to us kids numerous times over the years, t we knew she was serious, so we were scared she would tell daddy, oh and the wrath of dad was nothing to look at lightly. How many times did you try to weasel yourself out of something and mom was there to stand up for you, even when she knew u was lying you face off.

Of all your mom can do, she can give her life totally and completely to our Lord Christ. This will have the greatest impact on her children. Here is why; a mom whose heart belongs to the Lord Jesus is a mom who will display a life that shows everything good and right. Because of this, she will instill in her children a need to love the Lord, to walk in His way, and fulfill His calling. The result will be kids who; Seek to find the Jesus who Mom loves so much and to find their own purpose in life and make good decisions for themselves and their children.

In the beginning story, the mother loved her sons, went to the Father, and asked God to give them a place in His kingdom. Was she aware of what she was asking? Were her sons capable of doing the job that Jesus would need of them; Jesus knew they would not be able to be at the seats on either side, for those would be for the ones who gave all to Him. However, He did promise them a place in His kingdom. Please read this entire chapter and get the entire story. Jesus loves us all, it is simple, ask Him to allow you to work for him and earn a place in His kingdom. Mother’s day is coming soon, if you are blessed to still have your mom with you, please take time and let her know how much you love her today and for all those times she came to your rescue. If your mother has went on ahead of you, please thank the person who has been there for you in her place and remember the things she taught you as a small child. God bless each of you!

MOM I LOVE YOU! Thank you for all that you taught me, most importantly how to be an independent woman, who always had the opportunity to have God in our lives as we have grown from children.
