Are you battling a storm?

Have you ever felt like you are going thru the storm of your life? It seems everything is going wrong, you are late to work, you do not feel well, you just spilled coffee all over your new white blouse, and now your boss is going to be a real jerk. A storm in your life may last a day, week, and or a month, but how you cope with it will tell a lot about you. The bible tells us about a storm that Mark went through; let us look at it together:

Jesus himself suggested sea at night; however, they did not go out to sea until they had sent away the multitude once they had met all their needs. They took Jesus without any extra clothing to keep them warm. The storm was so great that the ship became full of water. Many smaller ships were at sea with them as well, maybe holding those were afraid to go with Jesus in the larger boat.

Jesus was asleep during the storm in the hinder part of the ship, the disciples encouraged themselves for they felt they would be safe because they had Jesus with them. After a while, however they did get scared and did not understand how Jesus could be sleeping thru this storm. Finally, the disciples became afraid and woke up Jesus, saying Master, carest thou not that we perish?

• Jesus commanded the storm, ”Peace, be still” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm” (v. 39), he meant that Jesus told the sea to be silent, be hushed, and be muzzled like a wild beast. The storm ended at the command of Jesus.

• A word of comfort, No matter what storm or battle you are facing Jesus can stop it with just a word.

Take time to ask Jesus into your life, tell him about the storms that are raging in your life and ask for His divine intervene with your storm... God bless you!
