"Words"

Words can lift us up, drag us down, wound us deeply or heal our hearts. In my heart I believe hurtful words are sometimes worse than someone hitting me. We have all done it, we have been angry and just spurted out the first thing that came to mind, realizing later that we hurt someone and now we can’t take it back. James 3:2-3The words you speak can have a profound effect on the people they reach. 2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body..

What would God say? “Love is patient, Love is kind. It does not envy, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, it rejoices with truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.” 1 Cor. 13:4 Do you think it's love to use sharp, harsh words to someone just because they contradicted you on something, or because they didn't approve of what you were saying or doing?

They disapproved of what Jesus said and did. In fact, they were out to kill Him! But love works no ill (Romans 13:10). When we have the love of God in our lives, we won't do things to get even or to hurt others. Now, sometimes someone may misunderstand what you were saying and think you said it to hurt them. This is why, many times, when people fool around with each other; someone is hurt because they take it seriously. I believe this is one reason why God is against foolishness — because in our foolishness we might hurt somebody.

If I have ever done or said anything to hurt you, please accept my sincerest apologies. I ask for forgiveness in Jesus Holy Name. God bless you my friends! Please choose your words carefully, we never know who we are hurting
